Working on a Wishlist app for TwitList

Hi there.

I'm currently working on a new application for TwitList. It involves maintaining a user's Wishlist. The idea is really basic for now. A user can add a Wishlist name and under that name, multiple links can be added. You can still share these Wishlists to Twitter and view and add other users' Wishlist. I'm also working on a bookmarklet so TwitList users can easily add items for TwitList applications easily.

More updates regarding Wishlist are coming.

Another update for TwitList - Craigslist

It's me again. Yes, I pushed another update to TwitList, now users can see what other users' feeds. You can view the lists and even add them to your own list.

Hope you like it!

Update on TwitList's Craigslist application

Last night, I made another set of changes. Users can now add a feed created by other users, though I still have to add a link or two to make the user's homepage more dynamic by displaying latest lists being updated.

If you are using TwitList's Craigslist app, you will no longer receive any individual updates from the app. You will have to log in to TwitList and update your settings so you would again receive updates.

What do you think of the new changes?

New Feature - Settings

If you're currently using TwitList's Craigslist application, you'd notice that Twitter alerts are being updated every 15 minutes. If you set up a Craigslist feed and that feed has 5 new additional items, that would mean you'll get 5 Twitter replies coming from TwitList. This really looks spammy to me. Additionally, it adds more strain to Twitter's servers and my API limit too.

So last night, I added a settings link to the Craigslist app. This settings link allows you to set the times of day you will be getting alerts from Twitter. Currently, you can choose 5 time slots to receive alerts for a certain feed. When the app sends you Twitter alert, it sends you a web page link that displays all the alerts for that feed. So basically, if the feed has new Craigslist items, you would get an alert from Twitter when that time you selected occurs on that day.

If you have been using the Craigslist app, now is the time to check it out and see if it works for you. I'll regularly update this blog with regards to this new feature. Also other users will not be able to see your list, but it may change soon. My plan is to allow the user to make their feeds private or public. Sharing is the key here :).

Let me know your thoughts!

Completed redesigning the website

I finally completed the redesign of Twitlist.com website. I did it because I wanted to make sure I can easily modify it when I'm adding new applications related to it. If you haven't visited it, visit it here.

Also, don't forget to try out the first application of TwitList which is the Craigslist feed updater.

Enjoy!
